C2 convertible top

I set out to replace the felt that is supposed to be on the two middle bows of my 67 convertible top. One was missing, the other bow still had existing felt (may be original). The replacement felt I received is NO WHERE NEAR the original or what seems like would work. My existing piece fit nicely in the slot in the bow, and protruded only slightly above the bow.

My question for the forum, what did the original felt in the top bows look and fit like? The replacement I received is HUGE compared to my original, and protrudes WAY above the bow. This can't be right!? Did the supplier send me the wrong stuff?

Who is the supplier/vendor of your top, as I intend to buy a top from Al Knoch for my 67.

At a recent Vette show Al Knoch was there and I asked about where to get the felt, since that is all I needed. My top and all other pieces don't need replacement yet. Al said I should call Coffman Corvette, as that is who makes the tack strip kits. That is where the felt came from. It just doesn't seem right. Anyone out there know??

I installed my Coffman felt with the long side compressed into the bow. That resulted in about .125" of vertical protrusion. Seems like that will work fine once the top is installed and some compression is put onto the felts.

Now the tack strips were a different story. Way too wide to fit into the channels. Took mucho grinding down with a belt sander to be able to install them.
