    60's first test drive A-

    First time ever on the street. Drove it up and down and around the block.
    Only one problem, so far. I thought, Boy is this thing geared HIGH!
    I discovered 3rd gear is where 1st should be and 1st is where 3rd should be.
    I installed the linkage about 5 years ago. I just put it where it looked like it should fit. Can the rods be reversed where it would work like that?

    simply remove the shifter lever and rotate it 180 degrees. mikie

      PS: i hope you meant 1st and 2nd are reversed, not 1st and 3rd as your post states. mike

        Double check the location of your shift rods on the shifter to AIM. I believe that you have the 1st to 2nd switched with the 3rd to 4th.

          If that's possible it makes sense because reverse is where it should be.
          I hope this is my worst problem.

              Larry, does the 1/2 and the 3/4 shift rods cross each other? If not they shoud. Take a look at this pic it may help.
