More Information
Update to story.
14 years ago, January 1991, Sean Farrel had his 1967 Corvette Convertible stolen in Largo Florida. Sean Farrel is a former NFL Tampa Bay Buccaneer.
The Corvette was found here in Hamilton, Ontario stripped down and amongst a pile of other cars and parts including a Porsche and a Jaguar. This was after a team of Local Police raided the property related to other stolen goods.
The Vette was stolen in January `91 and driven across the border in February `91. At that time the driver had a bill of sale for $4000 and he paid the duties.
Sean Farrel still has the ownership and other documentation to prove ownership. He is looking forward to getting it back and putting it on the road.

stolden corvetttes Ohio?
Sounds like in the 70's when a friend of mine had his 63 split window stolden while attending the Bob Mcdorman corvette show. It was found later in a garage in ohio, which was owned by a person who is a large corvette only dealer today in ohio. I think at the time guilt was admitted and a slap on the hands (light sentance) was given. I have always thought auto theft is very serious and should be treated that way.- Top

Re: Back in the old days...
Dave
But then we became more civilized and lawyers took over
and groups like the ACLU came along.
Ah the good old days, catch a thief, shoot him, instant gradification. Just don't know if restoring "Trigger" would be as much fun as a Corvette!
Food for thought though.
By the way, how's the car coming along?

Re: Back in the old days...
I can envision the possibilities - we would have the NTRS (National Trigger Restoration Society), Al Knoch could go wild with horse hides, Vet Brakes could have stainless shoes and on and on....
I'm finished with phase 1 on the car (chassis restoration is complete, engine fired off and cam is broken in etc.). Body drop will happen next week when I get back from traveling, then it's re-wire and vacuum system installation time! Validation, paint and interior after that and watch out 2006 - here I come!!- Top

Re: Missing `67 Found
Amazing that it was found after all these years. Now, if only my 67 would come back home. Not likely I guess, was stolen over 25 years ago.- Top
