    New Airless Michelin Tires

I was just sent a series of pictures of the Michelin airless tire. I'm told that they are scheduled to be out on the market very soon. I have several more pictures if anybody is interested.

Those have got to have a terrible ride!! Especially for a street application. Who knows, maybe not.

Maybe it will have a side wall when it becomes available. Id hate to have to wash that thing.

    Cool picture though.

Can't wait to see the snow tire version get filled up with hard packed ice.

I sure wouldn't want to have to wash all the brake dust and dirt off that setup.

Many "different" wheel and tire setups and been proposed over the years, and none were really successful.

My understanding from other reading is that this system from Michelin is purely experimental and at this point there are no production plans.

Will there be a chrome plated "spinning center" version also? I'm sure that is just a promo/concept photo but it is very nteresting.

Those are truly ugly tires. Will fit right in with GM's new styling.

I can only assume that you guys have your tongue firmly planted in your cheek and that this tire is a promo with its sidewall cut away for demonstration purposes. At least I hope so on both accounts.

Maybe we can just go to a solid rubber tire and that way you can drive it until it is just a little bitty thing.

                No, Gary, it's real.

No tongue in cheek in the posts above. Well, at least not relating to the tire. I've seen the picture in magazines, too.

Personally, I thought these were pretty wild looking things ... but who said I had any taste.
I posted these a week or so ago for the guys with GMC Motorhomes. Muight be of interest.
Would use them as runners for my C1 but ....What? NO WHITEWALLS! No walls.
