I replaced the fuel tank and sender along with the cam and lifters, now the fuel pump doesn't work. Before I replace the pump, is there anything I am missing? I am able to syphon fuel up to the pump inlet hose, so I know that fuel is available to the pump. The pushrod is moving up and down when I crank the engine. I took the pump apart and there is fuel and rust on the upper side of the diaphragm. Also, three of the screws stripped out the fuel pump housing on reassembly. It seems obvious to me that the pump should be replaced. Does the pushrod wear out? I am assuming that the push rod cam lobe is the same on all the cams. Should I check anything else?
