My cable was broke off inside of my tach due to high effort to turn the tach. I took it apart as far as I dared and gave up. Instead of sending it out I took it to a local shop. They replaced the entire guts. He ended up only using the needle, my supplied new face plate, chrome bezel/lens and the tach can. He also made up a cable with correct NOS cable. I got overnight service and a very fair price.
If you can you should stop by and see his place. Immaculately clean and he has display cases around the whole place with not only vintage speedo and tach gages/parts but also other items he's collected such as Coca cola and 3 in1 type oil cans. Much more there to see.
I am in no way connected to him and will probably never see him again (I Hope!!!).
