I think it is just typical of the time period. Some efficiency engineer decided this was the best for the bathrooms. It looks just like bathrooms in the McDonnell Douglas assembly plant and Emerson Electric. It is similar to other plants with large bathrooms. The large round wash area allowed many to wash and not waste wall space, which was used for more stalls or lockers, depending on the type of plant.- Top

I used to spend a lot of time next door at Fisher Body Engineering, and if you walked into a john at Fisher anywhere near one of their football-field-size drafting rooms around 9:30-10:00 AM, all the doors were closed and all you heard was the rustling of newspapers; God help you if you really had to go- Top
