Re: my seat belt codes and car build date
There is a new NCRS chapter in OZ. The chapter is too new to be listed on the contact page. The leader is Murray Forman. eagleviews [at] bigpond.com Substitute the @ symbol for the word [at] in this address. I have done it that way to fool (I hope) the automatic address finders. Since I am listed on the contacts page I know what a scourge those can be.
The date on your shoulder belts is the 52nd week of 1969. Not inappropriate for the build of your car. The fastener holding them in looks non-original. I would expect a chrome hex head, but would have to go look at mine (built the same day as yours) in order to be sure. The photo looks like a zinc plated bolt.
The underbody fasteners for the normal 1970 location (top of the wheel house) are best seen from the outside of the car, in front of the rear wheel, just above the frame. On the passenger side the fuel line(s) which are on the top of the frame rail will have a small jog in them to clear where the bolt would come down from the shoulder belt mount. One might better see this with the rear wheel removed, but if one knows where to look it can be seen with the wheel mounted.
