    Carpet Adhesive Part #

I read a post recently somewhere that 3M makes both a regular carpet adhesive and an extra heavy duty version.
Does anyone know the part number for the heavy duty version as I am attempting to glue carpet and insulation to an upright bulkhead in the rear storage area for the t-tops.
    Thaqnk you,
    Kurt #26406

    Kurt -

The "regular" stuff is 3M "General Trim Adhesive", #08080, and the good stuff is 3M "Super Trim Adhesive", #08090; both come in 16-3/4 oz. spray cans.

Kurt, from experience, make sure that you have PLENTY of ventilation when you spray the adhesive in tight spaces. Installed carpet in the rear of a 69. When got done and tried to get out, I was as "drunk" as iffen I had drunk a quart of NC's finest illict adult beverage.

          Dick.
Thanks for the warning. I am going to buy the adhesive tomorrow and will open garage doors and windows and set up a fan for additional ventilation as I have asthma and don't want any problems.

And be careful about overspray. This stuff eats lacquer. Mask carefully. I didn't. Always in a hurry. Figured I could spray carefully and come back later to clean up any overspray. Wrong. Little drops of the stuff left craters and bubbles in my paint.
