Last week I posted several notes re my master cylinder woes with a stuck piston. The culprit appears to have been the retaining ring with lobes that presents a clearance problem with power steering vacuum units. (Thanks again Doc for the diagnosis.) It also didn't help that I let the m/c sit for a couple of months after getting it back from Apple Hydraulics, the rebuilder. Unfortunately while removing the stuck retaining ring, which had planted itself half way down the cylinder, rather heavy scratches occurred. Not wanting to install and remove fearing a leak, I boxed it up and sent it back to Apple.
I explained the situation in clear detail in a letter and figured 3-4 weeks and maybe a charge to redo. The m/c showed back up within 7 days of my shipping it out; new clip, smooth bore, and no bill. I'm still amazed.
That's service that deserves to be acknowledged.
