Members,
I am installing the voltage regulator and horn relay on my '65. I am questioning the two ground wires. There is a heavy gauge, black wire that is part of the pass. side main wiring harness and a short light gauge, black wire between the regulator and the relay.
In the TIM & JG (page 125) it states that "The main harness ground attaches to the side of the regulator". However, in the AIM (page E224) it shows this heavy duty ground wire connected to the horn relay by the hex head sheet metal screw that attaches the relay to the core support. The AIM also shows that the smaller black wire is attached to the same relay mounting screw and is routed to the regulator and attached with the radio capacitor.
I'm reasonably sure that the heavy black wire in question was connected to the screw that mounts the horn relay to the core support as shown in the AIM. Is the JG incorrect? Time for the electrical experts to help me out.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Gene
