    GM parts source online ??

My local Chevy dealer won't give me much of a discount on parts that are still available through GM, so I typically use internet sources but I haven't found one that has good prices AND reasonable shipping charges. Optimally, I would like a site that allows me to search parts online and shows the price. Most site don't show parts back to the 60's to cover my 67.

I am referring to parts still available though GM, not those from Corvette parts houses like Paragon, LIC, etc. I have found that some of the parts can be obtained from GM cheaper than the Vette outlets - if and only if you can get a good discount off retail price.

One site I like to search to see if a part number is valid is www.gmpartsdirect.com. They show great prices and their online database appears to include all available parts (if you know the p/n), but they have ridiculous shipping charges that mostly eliminates the discount.

Can any of you recommend a good source that I should look into?

The price on the parts direct site is at or close to the dealer cost. It's a good reference point for another dealers price quote. They make their profit on the shipping and handling....

I've bought parts from GM Parts Direct, you can only order online, and you need to know the part number.
Also, there is no telephone number, you must communicate by Email, which can be difficult, if your order comes messed up.
Their shipping prices are a little high, but they will let you know the S&H price before finalising the order online.

If you know the part number why not order it from your local Chevy store? If you get a few guys together and go to the parts manager so can surely get a discount on parts from him.
