Removing 71 Conv. Rear Deck Hinges???

I am in the process of removing the body from the frame and the two rear body mount bolts won't come out because the nut is turning on the inside pocket below where the rear deck hinges are. I would like to remove the hinges so I can get at the body mount bolt. The bottom bolt is no problem on the hinge but the top two bolts seem next to impossible to get at. Any tricks to this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks Sheldon

I removed the spacer and the top plate and was able to work around the spring to rivet in the nut. I cut the bolt off to remove the body then worked on the nut.

Lyle, The top plate you refer to is that the one under the spacer with 4 rivets holding it to the body?

Yes With that plate removed you will be able to get to the nut. You will also need to remove the metal cup on the outside of the body to remove the rivets that hold the nut cage.
