If your corvette (66) came with Firestone delux champion goldlines, would the spare tire also have been a Firestone goldline? In other words, where the 4 tires are goldlines, would it be incorrect [for originality purposes] for the spare tire to be a different manufacturer and not a goldline? Thanks in advance for your help.

When the car was built, it got five matching tires and wheels. However, for judging, the spare tire need not match the four tires on the ground as long as it's a correct brand/type for that year car.- Top

Re: C2 Spare Tire Question
Also, original Firestone goldline tires were actually Super Sports, not deluxe champions.

Re: C2 Spare Tire Question
I find that intersting that for judging you don't need 5 matching tires "as delivered" and as stated in the Judging Manual road tires and spare are judged separately. Then why isn't the same logic used for the wheels. Let's say you have 4 bolt-ons on your 67 and a rallye wheel on the correct non-DOT tire? How would this situation be addressed for judging?- Top

Re: C2 Spare Tire Question
I'm not sure about the rim question being addressed for judging but I had a question about a spare that is being sold as an "original" with a
General Jet Air II tire with serial # 008186T50G. Is this tire correct for 66?
I also wanted to know if the original Firestone gold lines were Super Sports then why are the repros labeled as Deluxe Champions?- Top
