Re: Re-NOS????
I know....it is nuts out there. NOS is tossed around so much it makes me sick. But it does seem as though the real nos stuff is drying up. Ebay seems to be sucking it out of the woodwork. I predict it will evaporate all the remaining nos stuff in a couple years.
I can't stand the stuff that is new reproduction and just has the GM packaging label. I notice a lot of people going after stuff that should not bring the prices simply because they say it is NOS. Big joke!
Take care, Terry- Top

I don't understand the small block to a big block thing. I understand it is all about money and stuff but what I can't figure out is the line of people waiting to buy a fake big block midyear. If done right, I supose it is hard to tell but I think with a little knowledge under your belt you could sort of pick them off pretty easy. Terry- Top

Re: Re-NOS????
Terry,
I think many of the people that are buying big block 65-67 Corvettes today are doing so to impress their friends and neighbors. I don't think correct/original makes much difference to these folks.
Amazing how trends change. When I bought my 425 HP 66 in about 1982, no one even wanted a big block and several of my friends insisted I'd lost my mind. "Why would you want a convertible, and especially a conv with a big block!" Fun looking back at the old days of this hobby.- Top

Re: Re-NOS????
I think these cars will continue to hold value with the baby boomers coming on. It might be real interesting to see. Might turn out to be one of my better investments...who knows?? I must be wac-o though. I seem to enjoy collecting parts and working on my car once in a while. I am not sure what I would do if I didn't have my corvette to piddle with. It has been accepted into the family. Lots of fun for me. I didn't purchase my car to impress anyone but It seems to impress most that look at it. I just seem to enjoy the process that I have sort of formed around it. All for now, Terry- Top
