    C3 (1969) - Starter problems

    Hi all,

Today I wanted to start my car again to get it moved in my garage but the starter didn't do a thing. Also after jump starting it, it wouldn't make a sound. Even after pulling the car to get it running and letting it run for 10 minutes and stopping the engine when restarting it wouldn't engage. I've tapped it gently with a rubber hammer to loosen it but that even didn't make any difference. Any other suggestions (any fuses or relais I should check)?

Have a 69 also. You might check out the fusible link at the starter.

Safety switch on clutch could be culprit. As John stated fusible link a possibility but I think with the link blown the car will not have power for anything. Solenoid is another part that could cause your problem. Check to see that you have power to the solenoid when you turn switch to start. If not, I would then check to see if the switch is operating properly

I had the same problem and it was the solenoid.
