    Randy:
There is a car that has just been listed for sale at www.vintagecorvettes.com (greg wyatt) that might interest you. It's a cascade green '57, complete body off resto. take a look and good luck in your search.

      Randy,
I'm doing a frame up for a client who is a retired NBA guy. He wanted a straight axel car, so we went around to some friends of mine who own 56 thru 62's. He cound fit in my 57 with the top off only. He can fit in 62 with the top on but it is close. He is 6-7. For the price and your stated budget my personal opinion would be a 62. You can find good #2 drivers in great shape for less than $70K. I would look for a private listing and stay away from the used vette dealers. They have to make money too!!!

              Steve:

I also found a 1955 Penant Blue NCRS 97 point (2002 resto) at Mike's Corvettes for $149,900. I don't think BJ has seen them that high except the #3 1953 that went for over a million$ Is that too high for a beautifull 1955?

" or should I save my money and call a place like Pro Team and spend the $$ for a frame-off #'s matching recent resto like a 1960 for $85,000 or so?"

No matter who you buy it from or what price you pay, there will be something that needs to be done to it, so be sure to budget more money on top of what you spend for the car.

Too bad you've excluded the wonderful 1959 model.

1958 has the washboard hood and chrome up the deck. 1960 has the blue and red bars on the passenger side interior cove. 1959 is in between but just as beautifull. Didn't necessarily mean to exclude it.
