I use 100% USA cotton towels with the selvage removed. It is the safest thing to use.

      Doug,

I like good quality micro towels. They seem not to scratch and pick up the residual wax or cleaner leaving a dust and lint free surface. I also use 100% cotton towels but never new ones unless they have been washed several times. Also never use fabric softner on any towel your going to be using to clean your car.

"Micro Fiber" towls are the BEST in my opinion, be sure to take the tags off before you use them though.

          Cheers,

Old terry cloth towels, nappy side only. I went to a seminar put on by a major wax and polish company and they said, regardless of who's product you buy, terry cloth towels are perfect for wax removal. Their research showed that the nap in the towel safely and effectively allows the wax residue to be wiped off without scratching the paint. They also suggested that drying our cars after washing them was best accomplished using towels for the same reason. The nap should trap anything that might scratch our painted surfaces.

The micro towels are incredible...but soft cotton diapers work well.

Dennis, the auto car wash does a good job, but the sidepipes keep hanging up on the tracks, the antenna has been torn out three times and I've had to repaint he car 4 times! Other than that, the car wash is great.

"but soft cotton diapers work well".
And "padded" cotton baby diapers work even better

what ever you use make sure

there are no polyester threads used in the stitching and no matter what you use wash it before using it on your corvette. i use both a electric powerd leaf blower and a "california water blade" to dry my corvette after washing. do not use a gas powered leaf blower because the engine exhaust comes out thru the blower output

Your right on Clem. I've been using the....

electric leaf blower for many years. I always hated it when you just finished washing the car and you had to go some place and when you got there and got out of the car you saw all those dried water streaks coming from around the lights, bumpers. etc.. The leaf blower does a good job of taking care of this in advance. My neighbor always kid me about giving my cars a blow job so I told him he should try it. He did but he had a gas blower and did he have a mess when he went after with a towel to finish up.
