    C3 UNDERDASH DUCT PROBLEM

1976 LOW AIR - FOUND DUCT WORK DAMAGED - CLEANIN OLD SEALS TO REASSEMBLE BUT THE DEFROST DUCT BOLTS TO METAL DASH FRAME BUT IS 1/2" SHORT OF REACHING THE BASE DISTRIBUTION DUCT.I CANNOT FIND A DRAWING OF ALL REQUIRED PARTS? MY ASSEMBLY MANUAL AND CATALOGS DO NOT SHOW THE ENTIRE BLOWUP OF THE DUCT SYSTEM INCLUDING THE DEFROST DUCT....IS THERE A EXTENSION COLLAR BETWEEN DEFROST DUCT AND THE BASE DUCT?

    Michael -

No, there isn't. It's standard GM design practice NOT to connect the lower end of the defroster duct to the heater distribution duct; if they're touching, it will transmit heater blower and body vibration/noise to the upper instrument panel through the defroster duct, and the upper instrument panel will amplify it like a drumhead.

Turn off your caps lock key - caps are hard to read, and they're considered as shouting.
