    alternator 1965 C2

    Hi,
    I have a 1965 car, which is registered januari 1st 1965.
I am looking for a alternator.
What about the building date of the diodes? Should they be the same as alternator building date or proceed it?

I am interested in one, which has the codes:
3M4 and 3M9 (diodes black and red). Building date from the alternator is 4j9. Are they correct?

    Thanks for replying,
    Twan

Diodes were supplied by several qualified sources and sat in inventory bins waiting to be assembled to work in progress. As such, date codes and mfgr source were mixed in the bins and pulled at random. 'Typically' the date on diodes will preceed the alternator's assy date stamped in the case by 2-6 weeks and the code sequence is YMDD. So, it's be hard to 'swallow' a 1965 alternator with diodes dated the 4th and 9th day of December 1963 as your example suggests....
