Hi,
I have one complete set of '69 NOS sidepipe cover mouldings and one partial so I had to by a couple of repro mouldings. I was shocked at how far off the color used on the repros are from original. The repros are a plain grey while the originals used what I can best describe as a metallic (almost frosted appearing) charcoal color. Has anyone found a suitable color for '69 sidepipe cover mouldings? I may send one of my NOS pieces to Tower paint to see if they can match it. A couple of other questions:
- Are the insulators supposed to be painted semi-flat black? My NOS insulator is raw unpainted fiberglass even where it shows on the car.
- Anyone know the best product to use to attach the mouldings to the insulator (in addition to the screws). Paragon indicated originals used something like body putty and they use Liquid Nails.
Thanks,
Jack
