    C2 - Steering Stablizer Unit

Is there any value in hanging on to a worn steering stablizer shock unit....? This is the original unit off my '64 convertible (non-power steering). The unit was leaking fluid pretty badly so I replaced it with a unit from L.I. Corvette....

I don't think anyone is rebuilding these non-power steering units, but I hate to throw away anything that is original....

    Thoughts....?

It depends on who you ask. If your asking....

me I'd say keep it for sentimental reasons. If you'd ask my wife she'd say throw it out and while your at it toss some of the rest of that old junk. Second thought, don't ask her.

I guess my old radiator falls in line

with that. I have the original Harrison aluminum radiator I pulled from my 66. I drained it and stored it in the box the repro DeWitts radiator came in. It doesn't leak and has no faults except it didn't cool at highway speed.

Still stored in the basement and the wife says toss it.

Hang on to it. Let your heirs wonder what you were thinking!

Keep it, then I won't be the only one with one of those on the shelf. Mine has a late 65 date code. Could be worth BIG BUCKS on E-Bay

I kept my original dated one from my 66. Right now they can't be rebuilt, but who knows in the future? Like everyone else, I'm a packrat.
