I know that a lot of the long-time C2 owners who are well aware of this option, and it has probably been discussed previously.
But I'll bet there are a lot of C2 owners (maybe C3 as well?) who are not aware that their clutch linkage has a built-in "fast option". Look at your 1963 Corvette Shop Manual on the bottom of page 6R-3. According to the manual, making this change "...provides the precision feel of fast release and permits more rapid gear shifting." Sounds like a speed shop ad, doesn't it?
I've always had the standard setting on mine and decided to try the fast option this past weekend. Although it's not for everyone, I like it a lot. The pedal is heavier and shorter. If you are having adjustment problems, this won't help. But the change takes less than an hour, and is completely reverse-able.
So here's a fun and relatively easy thing to try if you want to play with your car some Saturday afternoon.
