I'm getting ready to sandblast and repaint my frame. What type of paint should I use to give the frame it's original appearance? Does powdercoating the frame take away from NCRS standards?

Re: 1963 frame restoration
I used DuPont Imron, slightly flattened, did it myself. I did not paint mine with the intention of having the car judged, though, I just wanted a durable surface that looked close to original. Email me if you want more detail on the paints and chemicals I used.
Some folks have powder-coated and then painted over that with the original asphalt-based paint, which I think is available from Quanta Products, to make it look original yet still have max durability. Others have gone strictly with powder-coating (there are a lot of choices of sheens now) or strictly with the original paint.
So, there are a lot of choices, depends on what trade-offs you're willing to make between originality, durability, and cost.
One tip: if you paint it yourself, make very certain it is exceptionally clean, eg: immaculate, before you paint. When you think it's pristine, clean it a couple more times. I had problems with the paint mottling in numerous places after a couple of weeks, so I had to grind all the paint off, clean and repaint... then I read a book titled "Corvette 427, a practical restoration" by Sherman, and the author had to re-paint his frame for the same reason.
