Soft Top

Hi all

I'm in need of getting my soft top frame covered. Are the kits they sell at Corvette Central, Etc. good fits? Has anyone boughten a soft top kit from them that fit perfect or were there problems? I was talking to an interior guy who does tops and said he can do a better job than with a kit.He said he has done vettes before. Should I have it custom made or buy the kit? I want this done right.

I would suggest/recommend Al Knoch tops.

I just had an Al Knoch top installed on my '59 and the installer said (who has installed literally hundreds of tops)...."There are no better tops made than Al Knoch tops"

John,

I would seriously doubt that an interior guy is going to sew one of these tops together and get it correct. He's probably going to start with a kit from Corvette Cental, Corvette America, Zip or other top vendors.

If I had not already bought a kit from Zip in the 90's, I would go with an Al Knoch kit and have him put it on.
