ALL 1969 Corvettes were originally equipped with AIR. It made no difference, at all, where the car was originally delivered, what engine/transmission it had, what other options it had, or what color it was painted. A lot of them "lost" their AIR system "along the way", but they all had it when they got on the truck at St. Louis.
The 1969 AIR pump did not have an external pressure relief valve (except for L-88/ZL-1). The 1969 pressure relief valve was incorporated into the diverter valve. Most of the rebuilt pumps that you'll find today will have the external pressure relief valve. These pumps will function perfectly for a 1969 application, though (however, you can't use a 1969 style pump for ANY 1968 application). While they will function perfectly, the type with the external relief valve will not be, strictly speaking, "correct" for a 1969 or later Corvette (unless you happen to have a 1969 L-88/ZL-1).
The 1969-style pump was used for most 1969-1975 Chevrolet applications with AIR.
