    67 Cigarette Lighter

I am putting the dash back in. The cigarette lighter has threads on it. How does it get held in? Did I lose a nut or something?

Al - Sounds like you're missing the retainer. The lighter assembly includes 1)a retainer, 2)lighter housing, and 3)the lighter element and knob. The retainer is a barrel shaped piece with ribs running lengthwise that is threaded at one end, it's the "nut" if you like, that screws on to the treaded end of the lighter housing and holds the lighter housing in the instrument cluster assembly on the backside of the cluster housing. BTW, there's also a light housing (part of the wiring harness) that fits on the retainer. There should be two 1/4" or so slots in the retainer for that. If you have a Corvete AIM, check UPC 12, B4, item 1 on the drawing. Pete
