C2 1966 Hood Emblem

Today my hood emblem reached take off velocity and departed at about 75MPH on a heavily traveled highway.

I see Long Island has it listed for $50, yet I see 3 on e-bay all for $35. The e-bay ones are GM 3873776 and claim to be either front or rear emblems. Are the front and rear the same part on the 66?

The 3873776 is listed in the 53-72 Parts Cat as front & rear for 66-67 so looks good.

I am not sure if The Last Detail has mid-year emblems but their 72 nose emblem is beautiful. They had a standard version (presumebly from the original molds) and a "better" emblem made from new molds. I bought the latter and it truly was worth the extra bucks.

Thanks for that info. I noticed in the LI Corvette catalog that several of the emblems came in 2 types, "regular" and "show quality" but the one I need had only one listing. I already faxed an order to them, so I'll find out tomorrow if they have it in stock.
