Lower inner fender seals

Dear Member's,

Could someone tell me if the ribs on the lower inner fender seals face toward the engine compartment, or do they face toward the tire side. There is 1-small lower seal toward the front of the car, and a longer one toward the rear of the car. The ribs run horizontal on each seal in the middle area.

These seals were originally installed without instructions for the ribbed side. They can be, and originally were, installed either way.
