      Loosen the tank straps all the way - push bolt up and out of cross member support. At this point tank is free to move around (low gas level please). If your tank has been in a long time it may have attached itself to frame members, but it is not bolted so it will move. Caution, watch the wring to sending unit (disconnect it).

          Dave,

          If you still have the original tank straps, you may want to use those. The straps have a tendency to reinstall the tank in the same position. Also, the original straps are a thinner and easier to bend.

              Dave,

              You can move the tank around(re-center it)fairly easy with the spare tire tub removed and the straps loosened.

                  Thanks to all. Made the adjustment tonite -- was fairly easy. Rob, used new straps since they have been on for four years and were well stretched.
