I had earlier posted a picture of the build sheet on the 1965 BB we are restoring. We have contacted the original owner who states the engine was replaced under warranty because the first 400 or so 65 396 engines were machined with the #3 cylinder under sized by .003, causing cracked rings and eventual failure. He states that Chevy attempted to get all these cars back to replace the engines once the error was found. Can any historians shed light on this? He has the service paperwork for the repair and there was no charge. Thanks, Rick
