C1 - '54 Washer System

What does Dr Rebuild know that I don't? All the reference material I have read says only 53 and some early 54s had the foot pumps and no 55s had them.

But his web site lists the following vehicle categories for washer hose kits:

- Early 53 with foot pump & glass jar to VIN 180 approx 1014705 12.00

- Late 53 from VIN 180 approx to Early 54 to VIN 548 approx with vacuum pump & glass jar 1014706 12.00

- Late 54 from VIN 549 approx to Early 55 to VIN 400 approx with foot pump & glass jar 1014707 12.00

What am I missing here?

my 53 #286 and 54 #496 both have the jar type

Hi,
Sorry I don't have the source of that breakdown at my fingertips, but I did not make it up on my own and if I recall the source was reliable. I'll try to remember, but I Never CRS when cornered these days.

My 55 number 401 and a friends 55 number that is under 400 which I for got the number use this foot pump.

Let me clarify, I'm not questioning the foot pumps for the 55 V8 or the 53s use of the foot pumps but its use on 54's sn# 548.

The 53-55 JG states '...53 cars to #1178 use foot-type pump... Later 53 through all 55 six-cylinder cars use a push-button activated vacuum washer system..."

Accordingly, I understood all 54 above #1178 had the vacuum pump and glass jar.
