    C3 Seat Adjuster spring

On my 69 the spring that puts tension (locks the arm into place) on the seat adjuster arm has busted and as you accelerate or slow down the seat moves back and forth. I see a picture of this spring in the AIM but can't find a part number, nor can I find a replacement looking at some on-line catalogs. Can anybody tell me who sells this spring or do i just go to a hardware store and see what I can come up with?

Thanks for your help & The Happiest of Holidays.

I would use a hardware spring and try to match the passenger seat one if you don't have the pieces. If it is broken I have been able to push the lever and lock the seat till I made the repair.

Thanks Lyle, I was hoping one of the vendors that I don't know of has these but I might be making a trip to my local "ACE" store real soon.

The spring was once available from GM under GM #3918611. However, it's been discontinued for quite awhile now.

As Lyle mentioned, get the spring dimensions from an existing spring and just make one up. Chances are, you can find one at a hardware store that will work just fine, albeit might not be 100% "correct".

Also, once you have the correct dimensions, including wire diameter, you can peruse McMaster-Carr's online catalog (www.mcmaster.com) and probably find a spring that will be real close.

Thanks a lot Joe and the Happiest of Holidays to you and your family. The information you provide "us" here is a godsend.
