    Re: Hot starter problem

Wayne, good point. I think he said he had a S/B. I just thought I would open up the avenues I been taken down and really felt it was the starter when it was a battery, and my famous drag strip case of running off the battery and the et. times reflected it. As soon as it got dark, light out-no start. My alternator was giving non-ops but my gauge showed charging. What a fun night that was having everyone have to drive around me to make their passes while I was switching batteries. Yes, I felt like a village idiot. Again thanks, all input welcome as that's what we all try and do is help out each other.grr.#33570

Re: Hot starter problem-update when resolved

Mike, how about giving us an update when you find out what your starter problem is. I have noticed a lot of people ask questions and get some pretty detailed answers like Joe L. gives that obviously takes a lot of his time but we never get the end results. Did they get the problem fixed or what, you know what I mean. I for one would appreciate it as I would remember the symptoms and pass on to another who may suffer the same problems. Thanks,grr#33570.

            Re: remote selonoid??

            Mike----

Yes, the term "remote solenoid" is synonymous with "slave solenoid".

As far as the Standard Brand solenoid, you can probably get it at any auto parts store that carries the Standard Brand of auto parts. You'll need to check around locally. They are fairly common so you should be able to find it somewhere. Understand, though, that the Standard Brand solenoid that someone mentioned is an "on-starter" solenoid, not a remote or slave solenoid. However, the same auto parts store will probbaly be able to fix you up with the slave solenoid kit that I spoke of, be it Standard Brand or some other.

older fords use a remote starter solenoid that i have used on race cars to prevent starter problems.they are available at most auto parts stores.

                  Re: Green Knob Wonder??

                  Hi Bill:

Poor design, rotten conductivity and cheap construction and material make for an anti theft device that can even keep the owner from driving it away.

                    This is better than Hi-School

Just want to say thanks to all of you kind members. It is great to have such immediate response in such an enthusiastic way. Jerry Bramlett is going as far as to send me the longer style plunger that he has some spares of. I can't tell you how helpfull all of this is. I will be sure to post my end results.
