Re: i owned a new 63 SWC and it leaked water

    Jay,
I'll let him know. He had to change restorers and they just started on the 64 in Nov. He is leaving for Fla tomorrow for a few weeks so it might be awhile before we touch base.

    Merry Christmas,
    Rick

Thanks Rick, For respect of Joe. I won't post any Pictures. I remember his excitement as he said. "No one know about this car". Let Joe bring it out when he's ready. All the best to you and Joe. Jay Garris

the reason the engine survived was because i had

installed a "rev kit" i designed for flat tappet engine that allowed very high RPMs with out valve float. dick allwine was driving it one day at at max RPMs he went from 3rd gear back into 2nd gear! i also had installed a set of the very first holley "le mans" float bowls out in the public after they were built for ford GT le mans racers back then. i needed that for autoXing because the side pivot float bowls would cut out on the turns and flood the engine.that is why i has a carb fire one day at the races.i was able to stay ahead of those FI engined corvettes because the carbed engine made more HP with my designed 4 shooter carb and those float bowls. i kept those bowls when i sold the car and sold them on e bay for big bucks because the guy with the kit car cobras wanted them.

            Jay,
Thank you for your fine comments and I will pass them along to Joe as he does not view the Tech Board. We have been friends for over 9 years and he allows me to me to store my cars at his storage garage. He corrupted me with Corvettes, as when we met, I was a GTO guy. He got me into the Corvette World and I got him into the GTO World. Great mix and a great guy.
            Merry Christmas,
            Rick
P.S. If you didn't know he used to be the co-owner of the Harley Earl retirement Corvette.

I happened to speak with an Ohio Dealer, Not Pro-T. Who had mentioned thru the grape vine my ol 64. (Joe's Car.) Small world. They gave me some background re: Joe. Harly earl car etc. I'm so glad this car will get the resto it deserves. Tell Joe I said how about those back bumpers. Best of Luck. Jay
