54 Ignition shielding

Hi Guys, I am trying to figure out what type of ignition shield my car is supposed to have (chrome or engine color blue). The car is a 54 and it has teh 3 bullet shaped chrome carb covers on the side.

Please help!

I was under the impression that it could be painted or chrome or some combination of paint & chrome.

The Judging Guide doesn't specify a S/N, it just states "Some 1954 cares may have chrome-plated shields, top, bottom or both."

In Nolan's book he states that between S/N 1636 and 4381, some were equipped with chrome-plated valve covers and/or chrome ignition shielding.

vin 2184(1954) has painted top and bottom. owned it since 69. mike

That works...according to Nolan's book your vin is between 1636 and 4381, where SOME were equipped with chrome-plated blab, blab blab.

So you could go either way Mike
