Dirty strainers and filters usually give some warning signs before failure so I would doubt the problem is there. The most likely problem is the dist. module as has been stated, but there are other posibilities. The fuel pump is controlled by the ECM and there could be an intermittent problem there, wireing related or ECM related. Also the pump is turned on for 2 seconds on restart which would power it back up when you try to restart. The pump itself could be failing. I have had this happen once with the same type symptom. The rubber connector on the pump deteriorates and leaks causing stall especially at low fuel levels. Another likely problem is the coil. I have had several over the years to show the same symptoms. Most likely , module or coil.
