    Motor Mount part number question

I sifted through the archives and I seem to have found some conflicting information regarding part numbers for original motor mounts. My AIM shows a part number 3796050 used for the 63. Several posts in the archives indicate 3886466 as being correct. What an I missing?

Also can someone tell me where the 3777409 mount was used and would it have been possible for this to have been installed on a Corvette in 63?

    thanks,
    tc

Re: Motor Mount part number question

According to information posted on another site by verrrry knowledgeable individuals, the 050 is correct for the '63. Later the 050 was superceded by the 466. The 409 is for a passenger car application.

The GM #3886466 was once the correct REPLACEMENT motor mount for 1963 Corvettes, but it was not the mount originally used. As you note, the GM #3796050 was the mount originally used. Functionally, the 2 mounts are equivalent. The 3886466 is configured a bit different than the 3796050 and the 2 mounts are pretty easy to tell apart.

The replacement or "reproduction" non-locking style Corvette mounts are all pretty much configured like the 3886466. I don't know of any currently available mount that's configured like the 3796050.

The GM #3777409 was a passenger car-only mount. Such a mount, or an aftermarket equivalent, could be installed on a 63+ Corvette, but I strongly doubt that any were ever so-installed in PRODUCTION.
