    Varooooooom. Like I Said...

It's either a saftey issue or a preservation issue, Thats how it starts. With all do respect to George, I understand pereserving these things must be the ultimate goal for all of us. However personally I hate to see the standards (pardon me) "dumbed down.". It's kind of like taxes or interest...a quarter point here, a quarter point there. Pretty soon we're talking a whole numbers. I agree with both of you, if it makes you happy Do It! There isn't any right / wrong answer here, many of us are enjoying our cars for many different reasons and who is to say any of those reasons are wrong? It sure as hell won't be me. If you could see what I have in my garage you would might ask yourself,"Why does this guy get so exercised about this stuff"? Here's the answer, I have a goal and that goal is to make this car the best it can be. If I succeed in doing this I will have in fact have a great time and "saved" another one for our sucessors to enjoy.

    Have a nice day. KK

When is that spell checker comming Eric?

      PHILOSLOPPY 101

Two things I learned while I was an employee at Eckler's:
      • Parts Is Parts
      • It's Your Corvette, Do What You Want With It.

Like I've said lots of times, Enjoy hell out of your car. For some of us it's drive it till it drops while for others its "make it perfect" or "make it like it was". For some, the most enjoyable way to have fun with Corvettes is to hammer away at this keyboard. Heck there must be a thousand little grooves that each of us can discover on his own. One thing's for sure, it isn't for me to question someone else's groove. If you say you want to make a Duntov type Corvette, I'll help you to the best of my ability to do so. If you want to build a drag racer out of a Corvette, same thing goes. I'll help. It's when muddled thinking (i.e. "I want to get a top flight out of my clear-coated, stainless steeled, Ford powered Corvette and then drive it") rears it's ugly head that I get frustrated. Ya can't plow the garden with a race horse! (unless ya want to git rid of the wife. Just ring a bell behind the horse when the wife starts plowing) If you want to build a Top Flight Corvette, that's what you'll wind up with. NOT a driver. (unless you have the fortitude to restore the car again)

Best solution is what I did. Buy several of the model year Corvette you like and do different with each one.

      Varooom.

Ole buddy, that is not a personality disorder he gives you those shots for, it is much more social in nature.
