C1 steering box article

Hats off to John Hinckley on the detailed and well written article in the July '07 Corvette Enthusiast magazine! I waited for this to come out before rebuilding my '55 steering box and I'm glad I did. One question: what about filling the box with grease when the build is done? If so, what was used? I noted the liberal use of wheel bearing grease when assembling, but did not see mention of additional lube.

The box was filled with the same EP chassis grease that was used to pre-lubricate all the gears and bearings during assembly.

Next month's issue has a C1 front suspension rebuild.
