    Goat Hill

I'm having the same problem with Goat hill that other on this board have had. I was wondering if anyone might have any advice on how might resolve my problem. Thanks Don Felts #29800

    Re: Goat Hill

I have offered to assist other NCRS members by phycially going over to their location and obtaining the item. Goat Hill will not allow that to happen - so my offer is worthless.

One member just informed me that Goat Hill claims to have resent the item. I understand that it took daily emails and weekly phone calls.

Sounds like constant harassment is the only solution.

I was going to file a complaint with the Long Beach Better Business Bureau in an effort to put a (small) fire up their butt. However, it appears that the person I was trying to help may have had their problem resolved I did not pursue the matter.

Good Luck - You will need it.

    Don

FYI, I checked their rating at the Long Beach BBB. It is an 'F' (big surprise??).

The best way to resolve the problem with Goat Hill is everyone quit buying from him.If he looses all of his business he will fade away. Tom

          Don,

          You have three choices:

          1. Harass GH incessantly with e-mails, phone calls, and BBB inquiries. You might then get your product in 6 months.
          2. Consult an attorney about mail fraud if you used the mail to send in your money. Or, have your credit card reverse the charge if you used a credit card.
          3. Consider the money as an "educational expense," and you've now learned not to deal with him.

            Re: Goat Hill

I had a problem with a coil which I ordered and paid for. They did not respond to e-mails so I faxed a note to him each and every day until I got a response (and my coil). Include your NCRS member number...

If you MUST purchase from him....I suggest only using a credit card for payment, assuming he accepts it, so you have some recourse if you don't receive the merchandise....which is the usual case with him.

What's kind of a shame is the guy makes...

...several quite good products that many of us need in the normal course of a restoration. Wish he'd just seek out a little different way to run his business.

Amen to that. I've been thinking the same way for a long time. Among other things, Paul is the guy that came up with the late 1956 '557' and '558' exhaust manifold reproduction. These are pieces that were once as scarce as hen's teeth. Paul's reproductions are excellent.

Many years ago, while attending the meet at Carlisle, I was warned not to do business with the "Gentleman from Chicago". Unfortunately, I didn't listen and have since paid the price for my mistake! Be assured, after reading the re-ocurring posts about Goat Hill, I won't make that same mistake twice!

                          Thanks!
