In October of 2004 I bought a 62 fuelie that had been sitting since the mid-70's when the guy damaged the motor. It was rode hard and put away wet many times. When I first put a battery to it, I heard a click, and the clock started working.
2 1/2 years later, that car is my daily driver, and the clock still works and keeps perfect time. (I've never had to adjust it.) By the context of the rest of the car, I know it was never sent out and repaired.(The car has original paint, interior, etc.)
This has to be a real freak--does anyone else have a clock that would rival this one in its reliability and length of service?
I thought that they were built to fail 12 months and 1 day after being put into service! (Or 12,001 miles, whichever came first)
