Community blood center is staffed by PROFESSIONAL medical personnel. You can't hop off the table and drive away! You're restricted to a clean, quiet, rest/recovery area equipped with free orange juice, Eskimo pies, cookies, water, Etc. to rebuild body fluid and blood sugar levels after donation. Plus, the theme was a show & shine display of classic Corvettes meaning the group was parked in the lot from 9AM to 2:30PM while individuals entered the facility, donated, stabilized then re-emerged to shoot the breeze with others in the parking lot, exchange views, Etc.
This was a comfortable/relaxing event spearheaded by local NCRS to raise awareness of Corvette hobby and give something back to the community. It was not a hairbrain stunt to grab media attention. News spots continue to air on TV this AM. Think anyone who trys a similar feat might find a warm reception from their local community. UK Chapter could 'angle' along the lines of a 'bloody' Corvette meet....
