Is there any source or template for the placement of exterior emblems on a convertible 63? The assembly manual is not specific enough to drill the holes. Any help or direction is appreciated.

Take look at the AIM, the L84 section shows some location information. Also look at the end of section called Botling and Welding which may give you a reference point for section L84. I assume that the side flags were located at the same points for the FI and non FI, HOWEVER verify this before you drill. -

Derek, I assume you are installing new 'glass. If it were my car I would be very very patient on this project. Wait until you can find an original car and go get a tracing. I used to hear that the early 63's flag emblems were in a different location. I am sure that Michael Hanson and others will reply on this. Maybe Jorjoriani also. In any case try this one. Call some of the big name resto shops as they probably have a tracing for you. Maybe someone on this board can supply you with one. I wouldn't rely on just the AIMS manual for sure. Install the passenger side emblem before the heater motor or you will suffer for sure. We just installed some nice NOS 158's on my 63 in lieu of the Chevy replacements that are the dark reddish color. (66 style) My friend suffered major league putting the pass. side on one. Drivers side one goes on in two minutes. JohnComment

Another page in AIM, section 11 Sheet Metal (pg D177 in 64 AIM) still not perfect.
I would follow John's advice and yes what a pain with heater motor in.Comment
