Given the low production numbers for the ZR1, and the 10-year past due date, are engine parts still available for that engine?

...wasn't there also a story some years ago about how Mercury Marine(ZR-1 engine builder)had millions of dollars worth of spare heads, blocks, intakes, etc. for the ZR-1 engine and they wanted GM to purchase all this stuff from them and GM declined, so Mercury Marine ended up scrapping all of it???- Top

Re: but, Joe L.
I'm near (75 miles) Mercury Marine and know people that worked there during that time and for years after. We talked about parts and they didn't know of any. I ran across a few parts that were obviously flawed and rejected during early machining process. I tried to buy a block and pair of heads one time. Flawed, incomplete machining, etc. One thought was to weld up the flaws and complete the machining but the guy thought they were made of gold so I passed on them.
I know complete engines were in the GM parts system for a while. Joe, were any engine components ever in the parts system? Heads, cams, etc?

i've never had any trouble with the three LT5 engines, ZF6 trannys or the Dana 44 HD rears in our 3 cars that are powered by these beauties. know of one 90 ZR1 with over 150K miles with no teardowns. go for one. mike- Top

Thanks, Mike. This one is tempting but I believe much too expensive.

>200 mile ZR-1's brought just a tad over $60k at Bloomington. There was a full set of new cars.
Another set brough $35 to $45k at the Kruse Auction in NC. I think that a couple of these were low/no mile cars.Dick Whittington- Top
