Another high priced nut on eBay

Here's an air cleaner wing nut that sold for $127 plus shipping. Hopefully for the sake of the winner, it's dime size instead of nickel thickness. lol.

Re: Another high priced nut on eBay

Is this what an original 58 air cleaner wing nut looks like? If not, does someone have a photo of an original 58 air cleaner wing nut?
        Thanks

          Tom
Do you think the nut will be left on top of the air cleaner at outdoor meets to be lost in the grass? Tom better keep your wing nut in your pocket but if you lose it I will sell you one at a discount if we can get ten master judges to agree what wing nut is for what year vette. Nickel,Dime, or .0?? something.

I'm not sure. You ought to create a separate post so the straight axle guys can answer.

Long Island Corvette sells a repro wing nut for $3. It's appearance is fairly close to the original wing nut, but experienced judges can easily recognize the differences. If you search the archives on this topic you will find quite a bit of discussion regarding the differences.
