    C2 Power Windows

I'm not sure which way to go with this. It appears that my 65 originally came with power windows and was converted to manual at some time in the past. It appears that holes where patched in both hinge pillers and in the doors. These patches appear to be consistent with the size and shape of the power window openings. It's difficult to see since it has been painted, but it is there. There is also a large patch in the transmission tunnel. All of the power window components are gone and door panels have been replaced with repros. Console is for manual windows, but that could have been replaced as well. Can't think of anywhere else to look to determine how car was originally equiped. The link below is a photo album with pics.

So now I'm left with the decision to leave it as is, or convert it over to power windows. Anyone have any advice? Is it worth all the trouble and expense? Impact on judging as I will have to use all repro power window parts in the conversion? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Plus, sometimes this kind of 'telltale' evidence results from cars that were raced/wrecked in their prior lives with individual components (like doors) being taken from donor cars and 'spliced' in... Certainly in a competition setting, you shed some 'useless' weight by discarding the pwr window option in favor of manual wind windows!

As far as what's the 'correct' way to restore/maintain the car, I'd say that's your decision. If you like manual windows AND the glass work to the door jam area to fill the harness conduit holes has been done 'properly', you're probably good to go as is...

BTW, for a while it was HARD to find the standard, manual, window lift components while optional pwr window assy's were rather plentiful. So, there was a time when natural supply/demand steered folks to go from manual -> power configuration.
