    Valve cover drippers

    Hello all,
I've got an opportunity to get my dirty hands on a pair of C-3 style finned Aluminum valve covers. While looking them over I saw that the oil drippers have been machined off, The owner said it was done to provide clearance for some roller rockers.

I am wondering if this is a concern, are the oil drippers absolutely needed?
Will there been enough oil supplied to the rocker arms as is?

    Thanks much,

    Bob

I can't say as to the supply of oil issue, but later ones (after69) and repros do not have the drippers.

with stock springs it should not be problem. the reason they are there is to make sure the oil does not overshoot the rocker pivot. crane cams sell "kool nuts" that take the place of the cover drippers.you will need to check with crane to make sure they will fit under a stock rocker cover

        Bob-----

1969 versions of the valve covers (originally used on 1969 Corvettes with L-46 and 1969 Z-28 Camaros) did not even have the drippers. They were added for 1970 and later. There will be no problem, at all, without the drippers. All small blocks with steel valve covers as well as 56-67 Corvette with aluminum valve covers did not have the drippers. I wouldn't be the least bit concerned.
