    65 A/C comp. pics

I have been trying to find pics with the correct placement of decals and stamp for a 65 compressor. The JG is vague on placement as well as no info on font for serial number on foil decal.

    Any help would be great!!!

David -- I see by your profile that you have a 350hp car (long live the drivers !) Would you class your car as early-to-mid production ?

Reason I ask is that the '65 TIM&JG calls out 2 labels (foil sticker w/serial #, and orange-lettered caution label) for the early cars and just a single foil sticker w/date code for the later production.

If you suspect that your compressor is the original, there may be a few other "visuals" to check for than just decal and stamp placement.

So let us know early-late and I may be able to post some pics that will aid.

      David -

Here's the same photo I posted in your thread over on CF; Top Flight '65 L-79 with A/C - don't recall the VIN.

Re: 65 A/C comp. pics; VIN

John - Great photo. The compressor looks to be the mid to late one version from the single piece foil sticker. That being the case does the mid to late 65 Corvette w/ C60 use the same compressor as the 66 Corvette w/ C60 because the foil sticker on the compressor in the photo looks like the 66 Corvette foil sticker. The 65 Corvette TIM&JG description of the mid to late version of the foil sticker is minimal. Does anyone knows what the configuration/description of the mid to late version of the foil sticker is? Pete

Thanks again John for the pic!!

Wayne the car was produced on 2/8/65. I did not see any clues as for as the stamp goes. I am not sure as to if the comp. is orginal to the car. I do have the numbers off the back of the comp.

            Pete -

A.I.M.'s show the same compressor part number for '65-'66, and both use the same add-on label that covers the freon charge weight spec on the foil sticker.
