I am restoring a late 69 (sept 3 )and have came across a number that I don not understand. The marks are white marker that is common. Next to a N-14 mark is a 88 mark. This marlk is also nest to the AC mark. Any idea what this 88 is for.
thanks Ronnie
One is above the gas tank on the fiber glass deck near the fill opening, one forward from the gas tank on the vertical wall, on the allum bulkhead behind the driver seat and on the firewall below the AC opening.
thanks RDR
The "88" is the Body Shop job number, which identified its sequence on the line in the Body Shop and tied it back to the body style and option specs on the dealer order. That number went from 1-500 in each released production schedule and went back to "1" again for the subsequent schedule.
